Fat Tuesday/Paczki Day

Here in Toledo we have a large Polish population and this is their Fat Tues. traditional treat, Paczki. Pronounced Poon-sky. They sell tons here on Fat Tue.

.They are like a heavy filled cake doughnut available with quite a few different fillings. My favorites are lemon and prune. Yum!

Those look great! Are they similar to Kolaches, which is made with a dough and a sausage stuffed inside, or a fruit on top of it?

I went in search of Paczki today, too. The best Polish bakeries are near Detroit . . . but I found a close enough approximation here. Yum!

Oooh, makes me feel fatter just looking at them!

Thanks for your comment on my pictures. I love sharing Alaska with the rest of the world. I originally came from Michigan, & what they call mountains there aren't even foothills here. I never tire of the rugged beauty of this place.
