Worthy of a Resume

Irma Bombeck once said she had friends that considered keeping a Poinsettia over from one Christmas to another be a feat worth mentioning on a resume. I think they might be right . Although I try, try, try, again, and again they are usually toast by April. Well here is the ill fated plant of the year. Stay tuned to see how it turns out.
PS-any tips or suggestions that would aid it's survival would be appreciated :)

First tip- don't give it to me. It would be toast within an hour.

I will be watching to see how you do with it.

I seem to remember you put it in a dark spot in a closet and forget about it, but I would look them up on the net and follow the experts. I was never able to get one over from year to year, but I didn't have a dark closet. I think a dark shed would probably work too. Good luck!!

My mom had one that she had for years--it was at least 20-24 inches tall if I remember correctly. It definitely was not a potted plant like yours.

She did always put it down in our basement, which was dark and dreary, for a big part of the year. I don't remember for how long, nor I remember when she would bring it up. It did usually bloom right around Christmas, though.
