Not Masculine?

I've been making this quilt for my 22 year old grandson. Now here's the problem. A friend suggested to me that it was to feminine for a guy????? Said she always uses dark or muted fabric's for guys quilts. I thought it was fine for a guy but don't want to give it to him if she's right and he won't use it. Anyone have an opinion about this. I would appreciate your honest opinion.

I don't see feminine in those blocks, I see modern and bright.

Twenty two seems too young to me to already be pushed into the corner of dark suits and dark furnishings, but I suppose that could be his taste . . . only someone who knows him (like you, maybe) could know what he will deem appropriate.

Absolutely not. I think it is perfect for a young man. And, like Sophie said, you know him so you probably have a pretty good fix on his taste.

I don't think feminine when I look at this at all...to me this quilt is gender neutral. It will just depend on what the individual tastes are. My husband likes the more muted, dark tones, but my friends husband loves the brights. And so does her son! So it is all in the eye of the beholder.

Actually I see very vivid colors, some dark some bright...so I say it is a GO! As the others have said YOU KNOW HIM THE BEST, if it looks like him...it is his! For my grandson (18 yrs) as a high school graduation quilt, the more color the better...and *bright* green is his favorite color, so that was the sashing in his quilt! Yours is a FUN QUILT!!

I think it's great and young men's tastes these days seem different from years before. Things are more funky now than classic. He's only 22 for crying out loud. BTW, is there a name for that kind of block?
