I've got the Blues

I working on four different projects right now and their all BLUE! I love blue it's my favorite color but hope I don't get burnt out on it by the time these are finished. The first one is a soccer ball quilt for DDIL's nephew. I'm using the bow tie pattern ,then arranging the block so they appear to be dirty soccer balls an idea I borrowed from Dorothy. The soccer ball fabric I'll use for border and binding.
The next one is a shoo fly quilt I started for my bed last year and since we're painting our bedroom blue next week I thought I better get it finished.(That ugly wall in the back ground what was under the wall paper I scrapped off ) As you can see after I laid them out for a look Poo Kitty promptly messed them up.
The picture of the Blue Work is what I've been doing in the evening that will eventually be sewn into a quilt and finally Grandson wants a Airplane quilt so here is the one block I made yesterday. At least this one will be different colored planes and just have a blue background .

Ho hum more flowers : )

The Rose of Sharon apparently loves the climate here in N.W. Ohio. About thirty years ago a neighbor planted five and these are all volunteers from their seed. They grow fast here so if one wants flowering bush here these are great.
The last picture it a Lilly my sis gave me last year for my B-day love the color.

Sedation and Flowers

Tue had another colonoscopy (yuk) But the good news is no polyps this time so I don't have to go back for eight years! Yeah!
Reading the instructions it said if I wanted I could have it without sedation . Since I don't like the loopy feeling the sedation gives I thought I'll go for that. Crazy I know but at the time it sounded good. When I told the Dr he said sure but if it got uncomfortable just ask and they would give me something. When he told the nurse I wasn't going to have sedation her response was "Oh?" I now have a feeling they were rolling eyes behind my back. Well I don't recommend it, five min. into the procedure I said "GIVE ME SOMETHING" LOL After that it went quite well.
And some eye candy from my flower garden . Yellow Cone flowers, Daisys, Geraiums ,my blooming Hydrangea and the one that refuses to bloom.

Pictures Don't Lie?

Oh but they do ! I was bragging to my sis about my beautiful "BLUE" hydrangeas. Took this picture and what color do they appear? PINK! I swear they are BLUE. Really!
And on a Flash Back Fri. note some pictures of my late in-laws old farm. George and his siblings sold it this spring. But I'll always think of it as Grandpa's farm. Here's some pictures I took last fall just before Grandma passed.

Aunt Patty & Uncle Daryl's Great Adventure

This ones for family. Aunt Patty and Uncle Daryl went on vacation to SD with Ted's family. She sent me this photo this morning. I guess a good time was had by all. Patty and Daryl especially enjoyed the twins. Their at such a cute age.
The first picture is Patty with Bob's new wife at their wedding reception. Trudie pointed out that as Bob's wife sipped white wine from a crystal glass Patty was swilling beer straight from the bottle. LOL
Patty informed me Daryl paid about $8 for that beer and she wasn't going to waste a drop.

Here's the last row (Diane's)I had to make and am sending out to her today. Her quilt is going to be gorgeous! Notice how the bright stars pop out of the black back ground. The second picture is my row.
The blue blocks above it are for shoo fly quilt I'm making for our bedroom.

4th of July Traditions

What are your family's 4th of July traditions ? My sis and I were talking about this the morning of the fourth she was excited about going to a small town parade with her children and grandchildren. I told her I don't really care for parades. She said she not wild about parades either but it's so much fun to see the little children's excitement and she really enjoys that .
OK, I can see that would be fun but.... our kids all camp on the fourth and DH and I are not campers. Especially DH he's not an outdoors guy.
Our tradition - " do nothing" LOL
OK, OK I did make hot dogs, potato salad and baked beans and hung red, white and blue banners(see photo) across the front of the house. And when our kids were small we used to go to parades ,picnics and fireworks displays. But not much fun just the two of us so....we watched the movie Vantage Point (very good ) ate our hot dogs and listened to our neighbors set off illegal fireworks until two AM. LOL

Robin Flies Home

My row robin 2008 arrived home Mon. I ask the ladies in the swap to baste the blocks together so that I could take them apart and mix them up to make a sampler. But the rows look so cute now I'm having second thoughts. Maybe I should leave them as "Row" houses. What do ya all think?
The first three pictures are the ones from the ladies the last picture is my row. Click on the pictures for larger image.
